With the new soundtrack to “Twilight” out in stores, some songs appeal to listeners more than others. The one song that stood out to me was “Decode,” by Paramore.
The reason behind this choice was not necessarily the actual sound of the song, but rather the lyrics. This song was written to sound like something Bella, the female lead in the film, would say, write, or think. Certain parts of the song give the same vibe the book did. Read more…

The young couple in love.
On November 4, 2008, Hot Topic was packed with eager customers. But this large crowd of youth was not due to a shopping spree. They were eagerly awaiting the soundtrack for the highly anticipated movie, “Twilight.”
This soundtrack features artists, such as Muse, Paramore, and Linkin Park. Each band brings a different mood to the soundtrack, along with soothing melodies, and insightful lyrics. Some of the tracks seem to fit perfectly into the movie, while others put questions into listener’s minds.

Edward, the 'composer' of Bella's Lullaby
With “Twilight,” the new movie, it occurred to me that the lullaby Edward wrote for Bella was going to have to be written, or rather, interpreted. Enter Carter Burwell.

Although the melody is quite beautiful, the tune seems too simplistic for Edward Cullens, the ‘god-like’ vampire, to have composed. In the book, Edward had composed the song on the piano, and the melody brought tears to Bella’s eyes. But this interpretation of the lullaby didn’t make me feel any sort of emotion whatsoever. The song merely left me disappointed. The melody could have been played with only one hand, and as ‘godly’ as Edward is portrayed to be, it just doesn’t seem possible for him to have composed for Bella, the love of his life. Read more…
